Looking to borrow eTitles in your browser, stream films, read the latest international news or simply click and collect books, dvds or CDs? Use Sølvbergets digital services from home, on the go or at the library.

Bibliofil - library services via app

Get access to all your library services through the app Bibliofil (in Norwegian). You will have access to the library system, whether at the office, the coffee bar or among the library shelves.

To use the library’s digital services on Bibliofil, you need a library card. Log in via Sølvberget.no and Min Side and choose Sølvberget as preferred library.

To access Bibliofil, you need to download the app from App Store or Google Play and log in with your library card number or your email-address, pin code or password. Remember, if you have created a password, this will override the pin code. The password consists of 8 signs, with numbers/big and large letters. Your pin is the four-digit code that you use to borrow at the borrowing service machines at the library, and to access the self-service library.

Libby – Access English e-books and audiobooks

Thousands of the latest eBooks to download to your tablet, phone, PC with the Libby and Overdrive apps. You can borrow e-books and e-audiobooks in English with your library card. They are available through the app Libby for both smartphones and tablets (iOS, Android, and Windows10), to read in the web browser, and on some reading devices. Libby can be downloaded from App Store, Google Play and Windows Store.

How to get started:

  • Download the "Libby, by Overdrive" app
  • Press "Find my library". Your GPS or cell network will locate your nearest Libby library.
  • Select "Sølvberget bibliotek og kulturhus" and press "Yes".
  • Press "Add your card".
  • Log in with your library card number and PIN code/password.

PressReader – Access newspapers, magazines and journals

The library subscribes to international journals, magazines and newspapers from across the world through Pressreader. It provides access to more than 7000 newspapers and journals from approximately 100 countries in more than 60 languages.

Access at the library: Go to pressreader.com, press the "coffee cup" symbol to see the list of newspapers.

Remote access: Sign in through solvberget.no on "Min side" and select “Library. Press display” or use Bibliofil or the Pressreader app. You have free access via Bibiliofil’s digital services. If you use the Pressreader app, you must first show up at the library and access the app on the SK-Public network.

Verdensbiblioteket (The world Library)

Access e-books and e-audiobooks in many languages for free through the Verdensbiblioteket. You can find books in ex. Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Polish, Thai and much more. You can create a user account for free through Verdensbiblioteket and only requires a valid email-address.

The Multilingual Library (DFB) - the Norwegian National Library

You can access the National National Library's collection of the Multilingual Library (Det Flerspråklige Bibliotek - DFB) with your local and national library card.

Filmoteket

You can easily access and borrow films through Filmoteket with your national library card. 

How to use Filmoteket:

  • You need a national library card and Sølvberget registered as your main local library.
  • Create a user profile on Filmotekets webpage. Register your email address, your national library card number and pin code, and you are ready to find and watch films from Filmoteket.
  • The films are available for 48 hours after obtaining them. You can borrow up to 4 films per month.
